Spring has arrived so we decided to get some lovely daffodils to brighten the home.

International Ladies Day was all about our ladies and celebrating them and their achievements.

We have been able to get out in the garden alot more this month to make the most of the sunshine. Although its still windy we enjoy getting out and wrapping up. We are very much looking forward to Summer and hopefully getting out loads.

10th March was International Bag Pipe Day so we invited Chris from Dunoon Argyll Pipe Band to play some songs for us.

Also on the 10th March it was Common Wealth day. We watched the live commonwealth ceremony which took place ag West Minster Abbey. We watched it on the TV.

Our weekly coffee afternoons are still going ahead and being successful. Its lovely to see family, friends and members of the public coming in for a chat.

We are continuing to add in more movement to our activities. We tried a new game this month and the main intention was to get more movement. We marched on the spot and then if the colour of bean bag you are holding is shouted they had to throw it in to the middle of them room and then do arm movements. Everyone seemed to enjoy this game.

Another game we introduced this month was to roll the tin and see where it landed. Wherever it landed decided what prize you get. Everyone enoyed this and was exited to open their present to see what the prize was.

On the 17th March, we celebrated St Patricks Day. This was a busy, fun filled day. We started off by doing anagrams and then coloured in Shamrocks.

One Friday Afternoon, we took a walk along to the putting area across from the boat house. Ian, Chrissie and Hugh very much enjoyed their afternoon out and the game got very competitive.

Morrisons Dunoon have kindly donated 15 easter eggs to our home for our residents easter. This was a very kind thought and we are very grateful.

Marjory enjoyed spending her birthday with her family. They brought Marjory her favourite goodies from M and S and enjoyed a wee afternoon tea.

We had a very special activity this month which we spent some time preparing for. This was something completely different and was very challenging for our contestants. On the first day we painted some cardboard to prepare but we continued to keep it a secret.

Then we had some final touches to make to our painting.

We then gave a wee clue as to what might be happening....

Did you Guess right? We played the game show I'm a CARER get me out of here. This was a fantastic afternoon in which Grace (Care Home Manager) Heather (Carer) Lorraine and Rahel (both Supervisors) had to face a number of Bush Tucker Trials.
These four ladies tackled some very disgusting bush tucker trails…..let’s just say our Activity Coordinator Emma better sleep with one eye open tonight
Rahel, Lorraine, Heather and Grace had to face 11 eating challenges and then one bush tucker trial to find their stars.
Every single one of them did absolutely amazing and gave every challenge their best shot. The support from the residents clapping and cheering them off definitely helped them face the trails.
